NO CALVING PROBLEMS"He performed really well," said Claude and Jean Hinecker of Kinsella, Alberta about Westlane Kirk. "He had good calving ease and is very easy to handle. The majority of the black cows bred Blonde had black calves, and we had no calving problems, and all born less than 100 lbs. We would definitely recommend a Blonde bull to anyone who has black cows and wants to get some hybrid vigour. We found our calves had a higher rate of gain and definitely had more pounds to sell in the fall. We are very pleased with what Westlane Kirk has done for us."
"We bought our first five heifers and one heifer calf in the fall of 2001 from Stan & Sarah Konschuh of Westlane Farms", said Cathy Srayko of True North Ranch, Fairview, Alberta. "Before we purchased our little herd, we got to tour the farm and most of their herd. We were both very impressed with the cattle, especially how docile they were as we walked amongst them. "After having our herd for over a year now, I can honestly say I made the right decision in choosing the Blonde d'Aquitaine breed. The calves did very well on the rich milk their mothers provided and have had excellent daily weight gain. The calves did not drop any weight during weaning, if anything, they gained. I truly believe having an animal as docile as this breed allows you to work with the animal without putting it through unnecessary stress, therefore making them easier to handle and producing a better animal in the long run." |
