Westlane Farms is located in one of the most peaceful areas in Canada, Didsbury, Alberta. Just 45 minutes north of Calgary, Westlane Farms is proud to be a third generation family operation, owned by Stan and Sarah Konschuh, along with their three sons, Ryan, Grant, and Mark, and soon to be daughter-in-law, Shannon.

The future may have been unclear in the late 1940s, farming was, and is, our way of living. Twenty years ago, Westlane's home-style approach to business led us to the Blonde d'Aquitaine cattle. Pleased with the results the Blonde influence has given our commercial herd, adding muscle, heavier weights, and excellent cutability on the carcass, we have continued to use the Blonde, as well as the Simmental and Charolais cows.

Our desire to incorporate this breed into our business has brought considerable growth. The driving force has been to maintain our personal philosophy on happy, healthy living. We choose only the best quality animals to produce a health-conscious product. At Westlane, we believe there is no need for hormones to speed growth, or antibiotics to counter overcrowded or stressful feedlot conditions. We believe beef achieves its leanness naturally, through the selection of cattle breeds and a successful and logical feeding program, based on grazing and naturally fed grains. For this reason, our customers are willing to provide testimonials ... "it tastes better", they say!

Today, our goal is to supply the consistent, high quality, healthy product that both cattlemen and consumers desire.
